My client based 5 minutes from the City centre is recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team.

Reporting to:Sales and Purchasing Manager

Qualifications: Work Experience and Competence based, GCSE/NVQ or equivalent in Maths and English. ITC skills essential

Key Competencies and Characteristics required:

  • Organised and committed individual able to work on own or part of team and able to work to deadlines.
  • General office management skills coupled withthe relevant skills and experience to enable effective and accurate administration and data processing of stock purchase, movement and goods in.
  • Basic understanding of administrative, procurement and warehouse processes
  • Some knowledge in the fundamental principles of stock control
  • Excellent face to face and telephone communicatorable to demonstrate ability to work with differing departmental needs and experience in managing work flow in a busy commercial environment.

Basic IT skills around Microsoft office software such as word, excel, and e-mailand use of scanners for online documentation

ERP, MRP experience ideal as system driven process

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Accurate ordering, administration and data entry support of metal materials, and/or equipment and the follow through with suppliers on import, shipment and delivery. ISO administration of supply chain and desk audits and close liaison with stock administration.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and maintain purchase orders and supply enquiry/po’s with current suppliers.
  • Assist and Maintaindetailed procurement files and track allocated purchasing activity.
  • Maintains on ERP system detailed records and inventory lists of goods received.
  • Works with the PM to continuously monitor and adjusts inventory of metals and components to minimize obsolescence.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with current suppliers.
  • Effectively maintain open communication with all suppliers
  • Maintain detailed purchase order data on fileserver and use ERP reports.
  • Work with and maintain accurate information on ERP server.
  • Follow-up on orders for shipping/import to good in andliaise with Accounts forinvoicing matching queries.
  • With PM enforces and monitors company ISO guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Work with and communicate with all departments in a pleasant and positive manner.
  • Adapt to the diverse needs of a small team and address internal and external requirements with flexibility and creativity.
  • Perform other such tasks as needed and as requested by the Purchasing Manager of company.
