About the role

As Purchasing Assistant you'll support the procurement and shipping of herbal raw materials used within Pukka's portfolio and deliver vital day to day activities to make this happen. You'll monitor and maintain the progress of purchase orders from placement of requisitions on our ERP system to the receipt of raw materials at our co-packers and different production sites. Working within our supply chain team, you'll maintain our ERP systems and provide regular spend analysis and stock reports.

Day to day you'll be in regular contact with our suppliers to manage their enquiries and liaise with them about product specifications, pre-shipment of samples for testing, transit times, documentation and custom clearance, ensuring the timely delivery of our raw materials. You'll arrange deliveries and collections of stock to minimise overdue deliveries and their impact, and regularly update key internal stakeholders of potential changes to timelines or volumes. You'll also get involved in purchasing activities including raw materials cost optimisation and delivery lead time reduction.

About you

You'll have experience of working in a purchasing assistant or procurement assistant level role where you'll have gained some knowledge of import and export activities for sea, road and air freight. Ideally you'll be degree qualified in supply chain management, logistics or business studies or have equivalent knowledge or have or be working towards CIPS.

Commercially aware, you'll ideally have supply chain knowledge of systems and processes from supplier to consumer and experience in stock control. Experience of working with ERP business systems, ideally IFS or similar is desirable. Highly numerate and analytical you'll be PC literate and able to use Microsoft Excel and Word.

You'll have an ability to influence, negotiate, network and build relationships, and confidently and sensitively work with other cultures. A great communicator, both over the phone and email, you'll demonstrate a dynamic approach to working with others and problem solving. You'll thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, demonstrate resilience, determination and have a flexible approach, with the ability to change gears quickly as events demand.
