Purchasing Assistant (12 month FTC)

Reed are delighted to be working in partnership with an internationally renowned specialist within the health food market. We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to work within this dynamic and friendly organisation for a 12 month FTC to cover a maternity period.

The key purpose of this position will be to support the procurement and supply of materials across the company’s portfolio. Within this position you will be liaising with international suppliers, suppy chain reporting and building strong business relationships


Responsibilities will include:

Participate in the purchasing of raw materials
Cost optimisation
Strategic assessment of the supplier base
Coordination deliveries and collections of deliveries
Setting up and recording new client contracts
Building strong relationships with clients

Skills and Experience Required

Qualifications in supply chain management, logistics or business studies or equivalent. To have or be working towards CIPS.
Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and requirements
Experience in import and export of sea, road and air freight
Experience in stock control
Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and requirements
Commercial awareness
