PURCHASING ADMINISTRATOR

Our client are seeking a new Administrator to join their Purchasing team, this is a role that will potentially offer formal training and would suit a person who has some exposure to procurement/buying or who has the relevant educational skills to support their application. A high degree of common sense is required for this position, along with the ability to analyse figures and orders - A good knowledge of working with Excel to analyse data is also a major factor in this role. The ideal candidate for this position will be methodical, well organised and will thrive in a busy and fast moving distribution environment. For the right candidate, there is a possibility for progression to a Buyer. There maybe the opportunity to travel to vendors around the world. The successful candidate will work closely with vendors, maintaining positive relationships while negotiating specs, pricing, and deadlines

Duties

  • Responsible for the day to day management of suppliers and scheduling inbound logistics
  • Placing purchase orders
  • Tracking Shipments to ensure timely arrival of stock
  • Make decisions and report effectively on inbound delivery issues
  • Communicate delivery discrepancies/shortages to suppliers and sales team.
  • Ensuring accurate information is received on delivery notes and invoices, thus avoiding discrepancies between receipt and invoices
  • Analysis of key stock, reorder levels and slow or non-moving stock
  • Working closely with various key stakeholders within the business
  • Maintaining the Purchasing Filing system
  • Assisting the department with general office duties

Requirements

  • Excel formulation experience essential
  • Ability to collate and compile data and information
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Sourcing and Research experience ideal
  • Efficient communication skills
  • Knowledge of fast moving distribution environment would be an advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise work
  • Able to liaise with foreign suppliers
  • Expediting Purchase Orders and scheduling stock
  • Accurate and methodical approach
