Purchasing Assistant

Location: Mytholmroyd, Halifax

Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 depending on experience

One of my well established and family owned technical maintenance clients based in Halifax is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their busy & demanding team.

This opportunity would ideally suit someone that can work autonomously, has strong analytical and negotiation skills, can identify cost savings and implement new efficiencies if needed.

Experience purchasing a broad range of materials is desired as well as high volume order processing.

As the first point of contact for all purchasing within the Company and for the Company’s numerous suppliers. You will manage the end-to-end procurement process from initial enquiry, raising the PO, tracking progress to ensure delivery deadlines are met, liaising with suppliers, through to receiving the invoice.

Dealing with all purchase requirements; liaising with all departments and sourcing materials, goods and services.

Actively sourcing new suppliers, negotiating the most competitive prices and terms.

Determined and set optimal stock levels for all company requirements

Raising all orders (high volume) for the business including raw materials, office supplies, fixtures & fittings, stationary

Chase any over due orders and delays – inform relevant managers within various departments

Process all quotations from line managers to authorise all customer repairs

Stock analysis, forecasting and reporting ensuring lost sales are minimised

Progressing orders for updates on deliveries, amend any invoice queries

Ideally you will be someone who is already carrying out purchasing related activities as part of your current role. Have an understanding of the procurement process from initial request for quotes through to invoicing of goods received. Experienced with processing a high volume of orders is desired and someone that is open to learn new skills and adapt to the companies processes and procedures, whilst also implementing efficiencies if needed.

A proactive approach and the ability to work under sometimes high pressure and on your own initiative is a major requirement for this role, the job offers the right candidate the ability to take on more responsibility.

I am looking for a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisational requirements.

A great salary is offered £22,000 - £25,000 dependant on experience with great benefits & working hours.
