Purchase Ledger

My client based in the heart of Blackpool, are currently recruiting a Purchase Ledger to join their fast paced, busy and friendly finance function on a full time and permanent basis, due to the retirement of a long standing member of staff. 

Reporting to the Team Leader of the accounts function, the successful candidates roles and responsibilities will include the following: 

- Matching, batching and coding invoices on the purchase ledger, ensuring they are approved in line with company guidelines 
- Register and process invoices and credit notes in line with company guidelines 
- To ensure that all expense requests are correctly calculated, approved and coded 
- To update the mileage data analysis from expenses for the purpose of VAT claims 
- Maintain adequate records of pro-forma invoices issued, and chase up associated invoices 
- Investigate and resolve purchase ledger queries as appropriate 
- To reconcile supplier statements to supplier purchase ledger accounts
- To liaise with suppliers regarding invoice queries 
- To produce suggested payment report for the Financial Accountant  


The successful candidate will have experience in processing invoices on the purchase ledger in a busy accounts environment. 

In addition to this, the chosen candidate will:

- Be organised, methodical and logical 
- Have a high attention to detail
- Have the ability to work in a busy and fast paced accounts office
