The Company

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join an established finance team to cover Maternity leave. As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for processing invoices, credits, and debit notes, as well as reconciling supplier statements against the finance system.

The Essence of The Role

This role would suit someone who has previous purchase ledger experience and enjoys working in a busy finance team, it is very much a "roll your sleeves up and get stuck in" culture. You will be responsible for the coding, processing around 200 purchase invoices per month, payment runs, reconciliations, invoice queries, delivery notes, and general administration for the team.

Scope of The Purchase Ledger Clerk

  • Process invoices and credit notes in a timely manner
  • Match documents to a goods receipt on purchase orders and identify any price or quantity errors
  • Deal with all discrepancies and work to a solution with internal and external customers
  • Review queries relating to debit notes
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Keep up to date with debit balances
  • Share ideas to improve processes and efficiency


  • Experience within an accounts function
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working within in an SME
