Ashfield Healthcare are proud to be recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Assistant for the Finance Department. Reporting to the Finance Support Manager and working in a team of 6, you will be soley responsible for managing the whole purchase ledger function on the operations side of the business. Key Responsibilities

  • Register all new Purchase Invoices using the Finance software Sage 200

  • Ensure that all invoices processed adhere to company and taxation policies and legislation

  • Refer all incorrect invoices back to suppliers or Head Office authorised Personnel as required, ensuring queries are resolved in a timely manner and invoices registered and authorise appropriately

  • Process authorised Purchase invoices within set deadlines

  • Accurately authorise invoices within Finance software

  • Process and complete payment runs via Finance software

  • Produce and distribute remittance advices to Suppliers

  • Run "Unauthorised Transactions" report and distribute to Head Office authorised personnel

  • Ensure invoices unauthorised at month end are within the agreed tolerances

  • Complete weekly statement reconciliations

  • Maintain purchase ledger accounts

    Essential Skills

  • Must be adaptable, numerate, literate and willing to learn and succeed

  • Good organisational and time management skills

  • Have experience of working in a Finance role

  • Educated to minimum of GCSE or Equivalent

    Desirable Skills

  • Experience using Sage 200 or Oracle

  • Processing a high volume of invoices

  • Running BACS payments
