Public Transport Planner
The role will require you to be actively involved in a range of Public Transport projects including; strategy development, ticketing and pricing studies, network re-organisations and market research. Whilst contributing to these aspects, you will also have additional business development responsibilities requiring you to develop and maintain existing client relationships whilst working to bring new business in as well. As a company, they encourage a supportive team environment and all senior staff are expected to mentor and assist the more junior staff in their development.
To thrive in this role, you will require a creative approach to dealing with complex public transport planning issues coupled with a good understanding of public transport policy and strategy issues. A large proportion of this role will fall within the Public Transport sector and, as such, you will require a good understanding of public transport infrastructure and operations with a knowledge of concessionary fares and/or ticketing systems. It will also be beneficial for you to have a good grasp of the development planning industry as a result of their typical work, as uou may be contributing to aspects of development planning projects - undertaking Transport Assessments and Statements and liaising with clients and local authorities.
