We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Public Health Specialist to work in our Public Health Team, aiming to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for the Bradford District and help address health inequalities.
This post has arisen as part of a new structure in the public health team. It is a generic role but this post will focus primarily on Healthy Places work. This role will contribute to the achievement of key public health outcomes through the management of work streams and projects within a portfolio of priority health programmes within a theme. Working at both strategic and operational levels, they will coordinate and lead work streams and projects using and developing appropriate systems and processes to achieve agreed outcomes. They will work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure public health is central to all relevant Council, CCG/NHS and partners commissioning activity and will ensure the development of public health capacity and capability within a range of organisations and settings.
The post holder will be part of a small team focused on an agreed theme area led by a Consultant in Public Health and including a Senior Public Health Specialist, Advanced Public Health Practitioner and Public health practitioner role/s.
Public health is part of a Health and Wellbeing Department that includes Adult Social Care and Environmental Health. Bradford Council is a large unitary authority with an excellent reputation. The district provides an interesting and challenging environment for Public Health work, having a wide inequality in life expectancy and a legacy of strong partnership working across health, social care and VCS partners.
