Psychological Therapist/Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology

Over recent years NHS Tayside has committed to increased investment in the Area Psychological Therapies Service. This service now has a complement of around 130 clinical and applied staff with an additional 18 trainees. The Department provides a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment in which to work. Opportunities exist for involvement in teaching and research, taking advantage of close links with Universities of Edinburgh, Dundee and Abertay. Members of the Department also contribute to the supervision and teaching of trainees on a number of University postgraduate courses.

The Psychological Therapies team in CAMHS comprises approx 20 members of staff, over two sites, including Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Associates, CBT Psychotherapists and Systemic Family Therapists. This post would be managed and supervised through the Psychological Therapies Service and aligned to a locality CAMHS team, providing a range of multidisciplinary assessments and interventions. This represents an excellent opportunity to join an established and supportive team with good links within both CAMHS and the wider NHS Tayside Psychological Therapies Service. The clinical roles involve direct patient contact with children, adolescents, parents and families and contact and liaison with significant others (eg relatives, carers, schools and other professionals) for the purpose of psychological assessment, formulation and treatment. You will be working under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist and work alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues.
