PSA Compliance Officer

Applicants are invited to apply for PSA Compliance Officer based at the Port of Liverpool.

Role Purpose: Through effective and efficient security inspection, support the Liverpool and Manchester Ship Canal Port Security Authority in maintaining the high standards of security and compliance in accordance with the Port Security Plan and principles of the Port Security Risk Assessment.

This role will include the following responsibilities:

-Prepare reports and briefings for the PSA on the current security status of Port Operators measured against ISPS security compliance, port security controls and crime reduction strategies

-Support business growth by promoting and enforcing the highest standards of security and safety

-Provide practical crime reduction and safety advice and support to all port users

-Conduct security audits, review systems and processes in place to monitor safety, crime reduction and identify best practice across port operations

-Deliver the Port Security Officers objective of providing a modern, dynamic, flexible and forward facing PSA, which promotes high standard ISPS compliance and overall port security

-Support a regime of audit and inspection compliance to specific ISPS plans at Port Operators facilities

-Be prepared to challenge all staff employed when instances of poor security or none compliance are identified and report on any breaches

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

-5 GCSE’s or equivalent, grade C or above, including Maths and English

-Previous experience within a security or policing role or equivalent

-A full valid Driving Licence

-A levels or Degree in a related subject would be ideal

-Experience of working within a marine environment is desired

-IOSH Safety qualification would be advantageous

-Proven IT capabilities and knowledge of working with social media
