Proposals Manager, Letchworth

£45,000 - £70,000

The purpose of the role is to work collaboratively across departments, to support, manage and develop proposals and budgets for new business opportunities and working closely with various people to ensure those opportunities are converted into client contracts.


The development of proposals and budgets for all new business

Working with colleagues across all functions to lead and drive the proposal development process

Act as clients’ first point of contact in relation to the development and management of proposals and budgets

Preparation of award winning proposals documents

Track and lead the development of proposals using department processes. Working across departments to develop proposals in line with the client’s needs, concerns and objectives.

Support the proposal follow up process, assist with bid defence preparation and develop revised proposals as required

Use and develop tools to create client budgets with supporting robust assumptions

Develop and maintain metrics of levels of resource, timelines, forecasts and payment schedules

Develop and manage systems and processes to assist with opportunity tracking and proposals management

Analyse and interpret budget and financial information into revenue forecasts in collaboration with VP, Client Partnerships

As required, maintain contact with clients by means of teleconferences and occasional visits

Research subject and business areas in order to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the client’s evolving objectives and ambitions for their products to enable the expansion of business development opportunities for the company

Be alert for possible new business opportunities and deal efficiently with any request for additional projects or services from clients.

Work closely with Business Development personnel in identifying new clients and assist with the preparation of business proposals

Experience Required

Extensive experience in producing and developing proposals within a Clinical Research Organisation (CRO) environment

Detailed understanding of clinical research processes, services and terminology

Experience developing proposals across Clinical research, Drug safety, Regulatory affairs

Able to write grammatically correct, well-constructed text

Excellent numerical skills

Ability to manage large, complex budget sheets and good understanding of financial data

Ability to work to very challenging timelines

Experience establishing and managing proposal text library

Excellent Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access skills

Experience attending and participating in bid defence meetings
