Our Client, A Local District Council,is located in South West Hertfordshire and straddles the north-west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London. The district is a mixture of beautiful countryside, villages and small towns. The Council is at the early stages of several new ventures to develop much needed new homes, leisure facilities, retail space and employment opportunities, so bringing a real commercial focus to the Council’s property and land assets.
At the core of this activity is the Property and Major Projects team, as the Property Manager, you’ll take the lead in managing the asset holdings ensuring that all programmed works, new development activity and estate management responsibilities are completed in line with the council’s obligations, deadlines, requirements and expectations.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate strong experience from a relevant sector and have a strategic and clear-thinking approach. You’ll have the knowledge to influence and deliver the detail, being familiar with the relevant requirements of the Council’s constitution, Contracts procedures, Rules and Financial Procedure Rules and Officer Code of Conduct. This requires an instinctive understanding of property and development issues, whilst engaging with and taking into account the views of all internal and external stakeholders. Membership of RICS or another recognised qualification would be advantageous.
This role is based in Rickmansworth however, applicants will be expected to travel and therefore will need to be a car driver/owner.
