Project Worker, The Shrubbery, Rochester

Langley House Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Project Worker to join our Care Home team based in Rochester on a full time, permanent basis working a minimum of 48 hours per week some of which will be unsocial. The post includes some travel and overnight stops can be expected. We are offering the successful candidate a competitive salary of £20, 438.00 per annum plus excellent benefits.

Langley House Trust is a national Christian charity specialising in providing at-risk marginalised groups (including those leaving prison) with accommodation, support and rehabilitation in a supportive Christian environment.
As the Project Worker you will assist in the delivery of a stable and effective programme by the efficient delivery of the day-to-day service; within set budgets and to the agreed levels of quality as defined within the Langley House Trust Business Plan, Quality Assurance Strategy and Key Performance Indicators and in particular to support Service Clients to achieve the aims laid out in their Care/Support Plan.
The Shrubbery is a project that supports 15 clients from age 18 up to 90 with varying needs including mental health and learning difficulties. You would be part of a friendly team of 16 staff who would agree that no 2 days are the same!
Responsibilities of our Project Worker include:
- To key work and support service clients generally within your project, and to act as the Key Worker to designated service clients.
- Take an active role in the assessment and management of risk including the operation of physical and situational security measures to control the level of risk posed to the public, staff and other service clients.
- Regularly fully utilise the Trust ‘Service User File’ with designated service clients to ensure that they are supported and empowered to achieve appropriate outcomes.
- Provide support and guidance to Support Workers to assist them in the safe delivery of the service, and to support them and Key Workers in spending sufficient time with service users to help them achieve the aims of their support/care plan.
- Ensure that all medication within the project is managed in line with Trust policy and procedures.
- Ensure that service clients are able to participate as fully as possible in the life of the project.
- Manage regular service user meetings and facilitate the Service User Inclusion and Training representatives so that they are equipped to reflect the views of other service clients at meetings.
- Provide other staff and service clients with relevant advice, support and training
- Promote and support service user involvement, manage complaints and seek resolutions.
- Supervise and monitor the behaviour of service users and to ensure that service clients comply with any statutory order, tenancy or house rules and to report deviations to your line manager.
- Take an active part in team meetings, ensuring that the team is fully briefed in relation to risk factors, changes in service user behaviour and de-briefed following any incident.
- Assist in the management of the referral process within the project to achieve agreed occupancy levels.
- Ensure that both prospective and former residents are supported through visits and/or correspondence.
With an appreciation of the work we do, our Project Worker will need:
- Literate to write letters and reports
- Numerate to complete statistical returns
- A commitment to work towards a relevant qualification is essential
- IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to work in a challenging and demanding environment
- Good listening and speaking skills
- Able to deal discretely with delicate matters
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable and able to manage own workload
- Relates well to people of any background
