Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems. Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure.
They are recruiting for a Project Scheduler to work on high-value Earth Navigation Space Mission projects within an international company. This is a Contract position for 6 months and will be based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
The role is -
to generate and maintain schedules
to monitor and manage progress
to monitor and manage priorities
across all projects undertaken within the CPG - typically 20 to 30 at any one time.
Regular interaction with multi functional project team and functional managers
Presentation of planning data to CPG management and internal/external customers
Supporting the CPG leadership team
Gather and update planning data and take a major part in planning decisions
Assist teams to identify and improve critical paths
Perform rapid "what if" planning assessments
Assist project managers to pre-empt progress delays and to draft and implement avoidance plans
Planning in support of bids
Develop a database of historic planning i.e. lead times etc.
Draft one page summary plans for presentation at reviews
Maintain on time delivery statistics
Develop multi project planning to speed capital expenditure decisions
Core Skills/Experience Required
Intermediate/expert level with Primavera P6
Intermediate/expert level with MS Project
Strong interpersonal skills
Pro active in communication and decision making
Rapid adaptability in a fast moving environment
Excellent analytical, questioning and problem solving skills
Education & Training
A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
5+years of experience as a lead/master scheduler within a multi functional and multi site team engineering environment
