Project Quality Engineer
Contract
Sellafield

Deployed within SL Decommissioning Capital Projects in order to provide assurance that the quality requirements are specified and implemented to achieve the stakeholder’s requirements/goals. The role will include visiting Suppliers works for meetings/audits etc.

Projects:
• Facilitating the implementation of SL Quality requirements into projects
• Support to identified Risley based projects
• Production/monitoring of internal quality plans
• Providing quality input to Project documentation
• Internal/External Audits and investigations
• Quality awareness briefings into projects and supply chain
• Ensuring SL Quality requirements for the project are identified and implemented
• Chairing of monthly quality meetings and production of monthly quality reports
• Attendance at project meetings
• Point of contact for Project QA Queries
• Interface with SL Inspection team

Contracts:
• Quality input to tenders
• Reviews of tenders
• Attendance at Kick off meetings for above
• Purchase order review/sign offs for Quality
• Attending progress meetings
• Explaining SL requirements to suppliers
• Review/acceptance/monitoring of quality documentation
• Review of Lifetime records,
• Assessment of proposed sub-contractors/ development of supply chain maps
• Responding to Contractors queries

Key Skills:
• Experienced Quality Engineer in Capital Projects
• Experience of dealing with Contractors/Sub Contractors
• Auditing
• Production and review of quality related documentation
• Good communication (both verbal and written) and IT skills,
• Knowledge of Quality in Design, Fabrication, Construction, Contracts
• Knowledge of the Nuclear Industry
• Experience of Quality Improvement techniques

Qualifications:
• Ideally HNC/HND/Degree level of education and/or membership of CQI
• Internal audit
