Edenbrook are working with an international Insurance broker to source a Project / Operations Manager.

Job Purpose

  • Lead the implementation of the Target Operating Model and all Operational excellence programs.
  • Ensure the effective execution of the Dominant priorities and long-term operational strategy to deliver the growth plans.
  • To support the M&A and Integrations, operational change, process improvements and the implementation of effective governance and controls.
  • Work with the business support functions in delivering operational environment to support the business.
  • Support any digital transformation programs and implementation of business intelligence and data analytics programs.
  • To support the Head of Operations in developing and delivering the operational objectives and strategic priorities of International business

Key Accountabilities;

  1. Strategy development and translation into actionable plans
    1. Work with the Head of operations / CEO to agree and document medium to long-term operational strategy for the International division, develop clearly defined action plans and monitor the progress against key milestones.
    2. Support the development of annual dominant/strategic operational priorities.
    3. Actively support the implementation of all dominant and strategic priorities.
    4. Monitor regional operational performance against the plan and ensure accountability to deliver operational efficiency by the regional team.
    5. Actively manage the strategic programs by partnering with the regional teams. Be an effective influencer to achieve program goals.
  2. Delivering Operational Efficiencies: Target Operating Model
    1. Manage the implementation of Target Operating Model (products, process, people/organization and systems) to ensure it is fit for purpose and meets all commercial and regulatory requirements.
    2. Responsible for successful delivery of the agreed priority business transformation projects.

i. Articulating the business requirements and solution.

ii. Facilitating prioritization of the change portfolio.

iii. Business case management.

iv. Ensuring end-to-end program management with adequate

v. Tracking and maintaining the business benefits realization.

  1. Operations Excellence & innovations
    1. Constantly find ways to improve the operational environment, recommend ways to foster operational excellence by finding innovative solutions to improve process, technology & skills.
    2. Support the digital transformation programs and also implementation of business intelligence and data analytics programs.
  1. M&A Support & Integrations:
    1. Support the M&A initiatives from an operational perspective (Due Diligence, Integration Plan and Integration).
    2. Support the development and documentation of an efficient M&A and Integration process
  1. Operational Support:
    1. Continually review the operational effectiveness of the International business, develop proposals for improvements where appropriate and establish implementation plans for delivery.
  1. Management Information
    1. Develop and provide regular operational management information
    2. Support in the preparation of monthly executive reports and Board reports.
    3. Accountable for ensuring that appropriate Management Information requirements of the business are articulated, delivered and embedded. Where necessary, development of MI to be prioritised as part of the business change portfolio.

Person Specification;


  • Post graduate level professional qualifications, preferably in Insurance and Risk management.
  • 10 to 12 years of relevant experience, preferably in all operational areas and with global exposure.

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Insurance & Reinsurance Broking operations is preferred


  • 10 to 12 years of relevant experience, preferably in all operational areas and with global exposure.
  • Understand dynamics of working in a multi-cultured business environment.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership team as a trusted advisor and partner.
  • Understand budgeting, commercial environment, regulatory environment that influence the operations.
  • Ability to handle large projects and preferably with professional qualifications in Project management.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to enjoy working well under pressure.
  • Takes a hands-on practical problem-solving approach to achieving business outcomes and to ensuring that the right business culture and behaviours are being pursued.
  • Can-do attitude, empowered and self-motivated all-rounder to handle all aspects of operational challenges.
  • Ability to deal constructively with uncertainty and ambiguity.


  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills and active listening skills, including the ability to:

­ Present confidently and concisely to a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels; and
