M6 month contract (1st October 2018 – 29th March 2019). 
Mapperley, Nottigham. 

You will manage minor projects up to a value of £500k from inception to final account. Coordinating the design, funding, contractors, consultants and dealing with the client throughout to ensure a high quality end product is delivered.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Estates and Facilities services and their delivery.
Knowledge of CAD systems.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Working knowledge of Excel, data bases and Word.
Knowledge of contract supervision utilising building contracts.
Knowledge of legislation and guidance appertaining to engineering services.
Good knowledge of building construction and project management.
Good level of knowledge in relation to building construction and project management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Degree level or minimum HNC/ONC in a Building Surveying discipline and/or with relevant experience

Good communication skills (oral and written).

EXPERIENCE
Experience in the project management of small and medium projects.
Experience of using CAD.
Experience of working as part of a team.

KEY RESULT AREAS
1. Assisting with the overall direction, control and motivation of both consultant and contractor staff in order to ensure the required delivery of effective, responsive and quality schemes to

both the Trust and client groups within agreed financial parameters.
2. Promote positive team skills, energy and commitment to the active promotion of new cultures, e.g. quality systems, client focus initiatives, intended to ensure a forward looking service geared to modern concepts.
3. Ensure effective communications with all E&F Managers and customers.
4. Assist in the development and maintenance of an accurate computerised estate database including the use, manipulation and interpretation of the Department’s CAD system, CONCEPT suite of programmes, or such other software as appropriate.
5. Production of budget estimates and feasibilities studies and design proposals.
6. Development of brief from non-technical clients.
7. Ensure that contractor’s equipment, methods of work, and service installations are provided and maintained with maximum consideration for the health, safety and welfare of staff, patients and visitors.
8. Ensure that all work is executed in full compliance with statutory requirements (including CDM Regulations) relevant Codes of Practice, Health Technical Memoranda, Department of Health guidance/recommendations and Trust policies/procedures. In particular with the Capital Investment Manual and Concode guidance.
9. Co-ordination of works with all other disciplines including any necessary liaison with Facilities colleagues and/or representatives of other clients/Directorates both clinical and corporate.
10. Undertake scheme cost control, the certification of accounts, completion of office records (particularly those relating to contract administration) in compliance with Standing Orders (SOs) and Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs).
11. Assist with the effective delivery of block capital funded works and their strict financial control.
12. Assist with the development of the Trust’s block capital programme.
13. Ensure the maintenance of an efficient archive computerised drawing register.
14. Work to the Directorate’s quality system and procedures in order to ensure the retention of its BS EN ISO 9001 accreditation.
15. Work to the Directorate’s environmental quality procedures in order to ensure the retention of its BS EN ISO 14001 accreditation.
16. Undertake work on the CAD in the preparation of in-house drawings and to ensure these are produced to the current in-house standards.
17. Lead and develop the minor new works process appertaining to required key performance indicators and desired customer satisfaction
18. Undertake overtime where suitable notice is given dependent on individual circumstance
19. Participate or lead on Trust/Estates & Facilities wide project groups.
20. Such other duties as may reasonably be required by the Capital Services Manager (Local Services).
