Job Description

Paragon Creative is one of the world's leading creative design and build companies and we are looking for a Project Manager to expand the Project team. As Project Manager it will be your responsibility to deliver fit out and exhibition projects on time and in budget, by planning and organising resources and people. You’ll need to track work to be completed, set deadlines and delegate tasks to the project team, identifying any potential risks. You will ideally have a proven track record and a full understanding of the development and fit-out of museum, theme park, leisure, retail and other visitor attraction related projects.

Main Purpose of the Job

Ideally you will have a proven track record and a full understanding of the development, construction and fit-out of museum, theme park, leisure, retail and other visitor attraction related projects. You will be able to personally manage projects ranging from £50K to £2m and, as part of the wider team, manage projects with project values ranging from £2m to £10m.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Client- facing: representing the company to clients and third parties
  • Assist with project tenders
  • Produce detailed project programs including critical milestones, which will be used to drive the project and protect the company’s position
  • Coordination with our site building works, M&E requirements, CDM requirements, schedule integration, main contractor roles, as required
  • Dealing with financial aspects - value engineering, producing monthly valuations, variation tracking, monthly cost reviews with finance
  • Organise and submit required samples, mock-ups, reports and other contractual submissions
  • In house and Subcontractor Supervision
  • Review of shop drawings submitted
  • Liaison with third party designers, client and client team
  • Factory reviews of works in progress and sign-offs on completed works
  • Working with Production to ensure timely delivery of works
  • Assisting with/producing RAMS
  • Supervise installation works, local and international, arranging site accommodation, travel, deliveries and security clearances as required
  • Arrange local site labour requirements, as required
  • Supervise project completion works, snagging/defect lists, O&M Manuals and Warranty issues as required
  • Initiating - Checking feasibility and working out budgets, team and resources
  • Planning - setting goals, defining roles and producing schedules of tasks
  • Manage the project, its program and budget
  • Monitoring and Controlling - tracking the projects progress
  • Closing - evaluate successes and challenges to enhance learning for the next project

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • A sound knowledge of construction trades, practices, and H&S is essential
  • A full understanding of the various specialist trades and close integration required to develop, and fit-out visitor
  • Highly proficient in all office based software, including Excel and MS Projects
  • Highly numerical and able to evaluate and monitor financial data throughout the duration of the project
  • Set objectives in line with the client needs, which may include scope, content, timing and budget
  • plan work and set deadlines to meet the agreed needs;
  • Select, lead and motivate your project team from both internal and external stakeholder organisations;
  • Ability to monitor the work to make sure it is on time and within budget;
  • co-ordinate the work of your project team and delegate tasks where appropriate;
  • identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time;
  • implement and manage any changes throughout the process;
  • report regularly to management and the client.
