As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the SGS Project Management, Sales & Subcontract team with technical support for new clients, ongoing studies and identifying new suppliers for non SGS studies and managing client’s timelines for ongoing studies.
You will offer technical support for ongoing work and new work - (primary focus on subcontracted work), whilst also assisting the team of Business Developers/Sales Support with technical support for quote generation and follow-up to ensure quotes are as accurate as possible and liaise with the operations team and Business Developers.
You’ll be supporting Subcontract/PM for assays to source upon request. Ensuring clients’ needs are met, and assay is fit for purpose. Whilst also providing the correct information to client support and test item receipt for upcoming work to ensure all is handled correctly. You will also support clients during pre-testing and ongoing testing, ensuring their needs are met accurately.
You will be able to provide back up support for logistics of shipments to subcontractors, and liaise with the Health and Safety team to aid in the managing and writing of GMO Risk Assessments. Finally, you will supporting the PM with generation of KPI’s for monthly targets (Revenue/OTD/Samples Received), for submission to management.
As a Project Manager, you’ll receive a salary of between £25,000 to £30,000 per annum depending on experience, plus you’ll benefit from a 10% performance bonus, retail discount scheme, private health cover after 1 years’ service, contributory stakeholder pension scheme and life cover.

- Experience in biosafety studies (Microbial, In Vivo, Molecular Biology, Virology).
- Prioritising own workload to meet team targets.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a number of projects at the same time.
- Knowledge of regulations (FDA/EP/Compendia methods etc.)
- Excellent IT skills, for example Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems, Excel, Word.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to understand customer needs.
- Relevant degree, qualifications or background.
- Experience in Life Sciences either PM role, or lab based work with transferable skills.
- Knowledge of Biopharmaceutical Products and Vaccines.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
