Project Manager

This is an exciting and dynamic role that will be at the cutting edge of catchment work and will suit applicants with energy, skills and motivation in concept development, influencing and vision (as well as excellent project management and engagement skills). The post will be for a fixed term of 24 months to develop the feasibility stage of this project. If feasibility is successful and the project moves to implementation there may be the possibility of a further contract for a suitable candidate to project manage the delivery phase.

What you'll be doing

We are looking to establish a Project Manager to work within the Riverlands Programme to further scope and develop our work in the water management activity in the Bollin Catchment There is a lot to do to help take this concept forward and, working with our regional operational teams and in-house expertise, you will move these projects through feasibility towards implementation. Having been a key player developing the concept and having led on the feasibility work the aspiration would be for this role to then project manage the implementation of feasible catchment scale projects (forming part of the Riverlands Programme in partnership with the Environment Agency).

Who we're looking for

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in the following;

  • The ability to gather , compile, and review evidence, data ,models and commissioned work relating to rivers
  • The ability to plan and map opportunities for natural flood management
  • The ability to build strong working relationships and confidence in your ability to share your expertise, insight and ideas with colleagues and clients alike
  • Project management expertise from planning stage through to completion
  • A creative approach, with the ability to drive improvement and change
  • Ability to communicate well with excellent written, online and verbal communication skill
  • Results focused, sell-motivated and able to work unsupervised
  • Well organised and able to manage multiple priorities with varying pressures
