Search Consultancy are currently looking to recruit for a Project Manager for a rapidly growing business based in Preston
The Project Manager will; create and maintain time lines, manage the full project life cycle and assist with the detail of the project when support is required.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Software Project manager are as follows:
Working closely with the IT Director to document a technical road-map for delivery of each project to ensure the best development approach for each project within the business
Identify and agree project objectives, risks, benefits, concerns, costs & ROI
Identify and agree KPI's for each project and measure success of projects after launch e.g ERP projects & E-commerce projects
Identify resource requirements and availability of resources to complete projects on time and to requirement
Ensure quality is maintained in project planning, definition, testing and ELS
Monitor and manage costs of each project (Building a history of all project costs and ROI)
Generally provide assistance, cover and support within the team as and when required, including out of hours
The Project Manager (Software) will have experience in the following areas:
Previous experience of running software projects have a understanding of the software lifecycle.
Tolerance for ambiguity - a project manager can often be unfamiliar with the kind of work the customer does and needs to be able to adapt and move the project forward - even if all aspects of the company are not understood perfectly.
Flexible management style - a project manager is constantly dealing with new people and environments and must adjust accordingly. They do not have the luxury of an established rapport with their project associates.
Effective communication - because of the ambiguous nature of projects, good communication skills are crucial in understanding what is expected by the client and being able to convey that vision to the project team.
The ability to balance multiple priorities and workloads
Excellent team working skills with strong written/verbal communication skills as well as experience of working within an SME environment.
