As an experienced Project Manager and ambitious to achieve your career potential, you will support the Government & Municipals team on on-going design & build projects within the Public sector. It is intended that the role will offer the opportunity to progress your career as your experience grows.
The team is involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding.
Project Managers are accountable for delivery of a project or small number of projects with reasonable complexity up to £30m in value - to budget, quality and time metrics. You will be responsible for setting project delivery approach and plan in consultation with key stakeholders and for establishing project delivery plans and appropriate control mechanisms to assure delivery.
Key Accountabilities will include:
- Overseeing an agreed scope of work and/or the operational workload of a team or contractors; ensuring allocated work is completed/resources are fully utilised in order to deliver against an agreed programme of work
- Working within established financial systems to independently produce plans and schedules and track and manage budgets, highlighting variances in order to manage and control project delivery targets
- Analysing and reviewing a range of data to identify key existing and emerging themes and trends. Using own and others’ analysis to provide recommendations that support project decision-making.
Roles at this level will manage and/or deliver programmes of work to meet defined objectives.
A Project Manager will be responsible for delivering their work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls, and will have significant technical knowledge and experience.
Relevant experience should include management of small to medium sized project (AKA 'core’ sized projects). In addition, candidates should have commercial acumen and the ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders and be able to demonstrate "Expert" level expertise in project management, ideally backed up with professional qualifications or chartered status and a strong academic background.
