Experienced Project Manager required to deliver minor works projects for a Higher Education establishment

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects (values ranging from c£100K - c£5M) ensuring that they meet business needs, University objectives and maintain the Student Experience. Typical works will include alterations, refurbishment, new build and backlog maintenance schemes with in the Campus and Estate. The post holder will ensure the successful delivery of each project paying attention to the co-ordination of works with teaching, research and commercial commitments.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be professionally qualified with a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification plus broad management experience in a similar role, or have substantial vocational and relevant management experience demonstrating management ability in an appropriate professional or specialist area and success in a similar or related role.
The successful candidate will have the ability to prepare and implement risk assessments. They will also demonstrate experience in preparing briefs, design schemes, prepare specifications and budgets and run projects from an in-house team or with outside contractors. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge and understanding of the application of the Equality Act/ DDA Regulations, Health and Safety law, Building control and all forms of Contract Law applicable to the Construction Industry. They will demonstrate the initiative to plan and execute large, varied programmes of work on very tight timescales.
What you'll get in return
Pay is between £39,000 - £48,000 per annum.
