The Role

The position will see the successful professional lead the design and delivery of an essential digital project that will improve the lives of those affected

This project will drive long lasting change within the organisation by driving innovation and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Refine the design of project prior to launch to ensure it has greatest impact,
  • Working closely with colleagues in Marketing, Fundraising and Communications, identify corporate partnerships and wider fundraising opportunities
  • Oversee the delivery of a body of inputs and output including think pieces, research reports, stakeholder events, the Commission’s findings and recommendations
  • Work with colleagues in digital and communications to build an engagement and communications plan for the Commission, including informing the development of an online platform for debate and information exchange
  • Establish and relationship manage a growing network of thought-leaders, business leaders and high-profile supporters to input into the Commission’s work, providing content that is relevant and compelling for the programme’s key audiences
  • Work tirelessly to ensure great communication with colleagues right across the organisation, to ensure we turn opportunities arising out of the Commission into deliverable plans for innovation
  • Act as a spokesperson and ambassador and the Commission in meetings with senior business leaders, funders etc and in the media
  • Overall project management, with accountability for the programme delivering to time, to budget, in line with agreed measures of success/impact, and for ensuring excellent levels of engagement and participation of disabled people in all aspects of the programme

The Person

  • Experience of delivering social change through research, influencing or programme delivery
  • Experience of developing a digital platform or website
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Substantial track record of managing projects or programmes successfully, and meeting budget, timescales and success measures
  • Demonstrable understanding of the social model of disability
  • Experience of developing effective relationships and partnerships at a senior level with business leaders, influencers and decision-makers
  • Experience of commissioning research and/or of managing external suppliers and partners
  • Knowledge of new and emerging digital technologies and an appreciation for how they might be used to improve the lives of disabled people
