Our client is a highly reputable, privately owned, medium sized company that are seeking a "hands on" experienced Project Engineer preferably from the food processing industry, pharmaceutical or similar
Working under own initiative, with support from our close-knit projects team as necessary, fulfilling "inception to completion" project engineering and management.
A typical project engineer’s role starts with carrying out client liaison to fully identify detailed user requirement following receipt of order.
Continuing with engineering works including - sourcing equipment from there own range of products and that of close partner companies, working with the client to establish working line layout and agreeing KPI’s, generate P&ID’s & PFD’s, supplier negotiations and equipment purchasing, project cost tracking and monitoring, conduct our own internal fabrication quality and pre-assembly inspections and those with the client prior to despatch. Documentation gathering for manual compilation and training purposes.
Finishing with on-site works from start of installation to hand-over to client including - Site supervision of all elements of installation works, working closely with key contractors for both mechanical and electrical build. Hands-on approach to commissioning, engineer/operator training and managing closure of snagging lists.
On larger projects you may be nominated "project leader" whereby you would be leading a small team of engineers plus health and safety manager on site working under CDM regulations.
The successful candidate can expect a healthy split of 60% office based activities and 40% on-site. Site work could be in the UK but also requires candidates to travel both in Europe and further a field, so candidates need to be prepared to spend time abroad.
