Project Director - Rail & Infrastructure
Location: London
Length: Interim/ Perm TBC
Status: Inside IR35

A public organisation is seeking a Programme Director to effectively lead on the initial stages of the development for a new London train station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on a capital budget of £270m for a brand new train station, which contributes to a wide ranging regeneration scheme of £4bn
  • Hold direct line management of 28 reports and 100 indirect reports
  • Work closely with other Directors leading on schemes for 7,500 new homes, a new shopping and town centre, and bus station, of which the train station will be a key component
  • Establishing, maintaining, and managing relationships with key stakeholders, working with a Joint Venture/Partner on the programme
  • Enable a strong cohesion for the initial stages of the development of the new train station, overseeing the contractor and all other partners


  • Deep understanding of the role of rail and infrastructure projects in regeneration, economic development, investment and planning issues in an urban area
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills
  • Substantial experience with a rail related organisation
  • Background of successful programme management within a public sector organisation
