Our client is home to award winning beaches and parks, historical monuments, picture postcard villages and part of the South Downs, they’ve got it all. Covering the three main towns of Arundel, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis, our client is home to around 150,000 people and borders Chichester to the west and Worthing to the east. 

Position: Project Officer 
Location: Littlehampton Civic Centre 
Job Type: Full Time, 3 year Fixed Term Contract 
Hours: 37 hours per week 
Salary: £25,961 to £27,668 per annum

About the role: 

They are seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual for the role of Project Officer reporting directly to the Group Head of Residential Services. This role is extremely varied; you will assist the Group Head of Residential Services with the preparation of project briefs, business cases, project plans and project initiation documents as well as all aspects of project implementation. 


- Support the Group Head of Residential Services in the preparation of project documentation including project briefs, business cases, project plans and project initiation documents 
- Assist the Group Head of Residential Services with all aspects of project implementation 
- Collect project information and monitor project progress 
- Maintain and update an activity log in relation to the project to ensure actions managed 
- Carry out research, prepare reports and provide statistical information 
- Assist with the tendering process for the new Repairs and Maintenance contract, and gain any relevant approvals, including drafting committee reports 
- Assist with budget monitoring for the various projects including the reconciliation and signing off of invoices, and the coordination and processing of relevant monthly contract valuations 
- In order to deliver services effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties will, however, be appropriate to the competencies and grade of the post 

Essential Skills: 

- Good level of education including English & Maths GCSE’s or equivalent 
- Understanding of project management principles 
- Collecting and analysing complex information 
- Proficient in Microsoft Word 
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel 
- Carrying out office administration duties 
- Excellent communication skills 
- Good analytical skills 
- Excellent written and verbal skills 
- Able to prioritise work, dealing with a number of tasks in parallel 

Desirable Skills: 

- Experience of handling projects and dealing with sensitive information 
- Preparing project proposals and project documentation 
- Experience of local government and public service business environment 
- Knowledge of MS Visio 
- Knowledge of MS Project 

You may have experience of the following: Project Officer, Project Coordinator, Project Management, Project Planning, Problem Solving, Reporting, Project Support Officer, Project Administrator etc.
