Programme Manager - Multi high-end Construction Projects

My client, a global Construction company based in the heart of the City, are looking for a Programme Manager who has experience within Construction and is confident leading on multiple projects simultaneously with high profile corporate clients. The role requires someone who has experience of managing/supervising a small team, is confident building and maintaining relationships and is able to come up with new innovative ideas. The Role
• Partner with functional leads to mitigate obstacles, barriers and risks to successful execution of projects within assigned portfolio
• Establish the control programme for all Client planned and approved activities
• Strategically manage delivery across all Client workstreams. Ensure relevant, to the point, flash reports are available to the Client including portfolio status overviews
• Identify and manage risk reporting from a portfolio wide perspective
• Develop an improved Client Initiation and Handover strategy
• Chair programme related focus groups / meetings
• Implement project alignment strategies e.g. “Touch once” / Clash and Efficiency Programme Management (across all Client workstreams)
• Performance / KPI Management - programme level/data management; provide context to data
• Set the standard for the process control requirements and templates - provide assurance and quality standards
• Portfolio Oversight with delivery partners and Supplier co-ordination
• Recommend Supply chain allocation and approach - by size/proportion/KPIs
• Flag/escalate programme or governance issues to Client Project Delivery Managers
• Define and identify key stakeholders associated with the gateway approval management of individual workstreams, and ensure their expectations are metInteract with individual in-country CRM’s to ensure vision and understanding of in-country operational requirements and maintain compliance with clients current delivery standards (Commercial, Design, MEP, HSE etc)
• Develop, manage and monitor suitable processes to ensure project delivery in accordance with the PMO Operational Guide and all associated tools (update and/or evolve where necessary).
• Identify and review client Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and how projects are allocated to optimise opportunities and for the PMO to expand its engagement to a wider client focused offer
• Investigate, test, improve and maintain the necessary management tools to allow the enhanced delivery and ensure compliance with local code and PMO operating protocols
• To manage direct reports (as required) through leadership and mentoring, dealing with any performance, attendance or capability issues in a timely and appropriate manner
• To ensure optimum planning and allocation of resource with existing workload and to manage the quality and productivity in the delivery of projects, ensuring they are keeping to client programme and quality

The Person
• Essential - Project/ Programme management experience within a construction environment
• Solid financial skills, including business case development
• Supervisory / people management experience
• Experience presenting to senior management
• Demonstrated cross-functional experience in project management and commercial areas is preferred
• Proven ability to work effectively across teams, and communicate effectively at all levels
• Professional and willing to adapt, be proactive with “can-do” approach
• To lead by example in terms of motivating, recognising effort and dealing with any performance issues in a timely and appropriate manner
• Able to establish good working relationships with many different people at different levels
• Attention to detail
• Quality Assurance methods/standards to assure delivery of projects
• Understanding on the day-to-day matters arising within a project environment
• Strong influencing, negotiation and relationship management skills
• Develop empathetic behaviours wherever possible
• Listen to those with whom you interact and respond accordingly
• Manage relationships (both internally and externally)in a collaborative way
