James Hume is recruiting for someone with experience of managing the development of new innovative technologies and their commercialisation to join this cutting-edge biotech as a Programme Manager. The company are a centre of excellence that is leading the way in the development of cell & gene therapies by providing the multi - disciplinary expertise needed to bring these to the market. Their head offices are in Central London where this role will be based, and its purpose is to manage the research programmes of promising therapies throughout their entire lifecycle to a successful completion.

Their longer term aim is to make the UK a global leader in the development and commercial exploitation of therapies. This is a broad, exciting and challenging role with the responsibility for managing multi-disciplinary development programmes through the project lifecycle from concept till conclusion. This is a senior and influential role that will be visible across the company including the senior management team. You will have strategic input into the structure of research programmes from the acquisition phase though till completion with the responsibility for the day to day running of the programmes.
You will be involved right from the early acquisition phase providing input on features such as the development of transaction structures, technical milestones, legal and financial terms for research programmes. You will develop detailed work structures and project plans to ensure results are delivered by working closely with clients, senior managers and executive team. You will identify appropriate resources, internally and externally, to bring them together to deliver on projects by developing strong and clear plans. Due to the positioning of the role you will be leading high performing teams that has the ability to adapt to changes during the lifecycle of projects and be focused on delivery.

Desired Skills and Competencies:
The criteria is set deliberately wide because they are seeking someone who has project management skills, preferably in a small company environment, combined with scientific knowledge of the cell and or gene therapy sectors. Thus you can have gained experience in any of the following sectors: biotech / biopharma / CMO / CRO / clinical trial / clinical supply chain sectors. You will be educated to a level higher than degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific field. With the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams as well as external clients to plan, manage and deliver R&D projects.
