Programme Leader – Level 7 Digital & Technology Degree Apprenticeships

QAs Computing Degree Apprenticeships are a pedagogically innovative, work-based programme that has expanded rapidly since its launch in 2015. QA is now adding the Level 7 MSc Digital & Technology Specialist to our portfolio and we are looking for a Programme Leader to manage the new programme. Our degree apprentices work for varied clients including FTSE100 businesses, central government departments, wider public sector organisations and small technology companies. The Apprenticeship division is part of QA, the UK’s leading provider of IT and business services training and education. Our multi-award winning programmes received the highest possible grade by Ofsted, with ‘Outstanding’ in all areas.

Our Role:

As Programme Leader you will be responsible for the academic management and development of the MSc Digital & Technology Specialist Degree Apprenticeship programme. We are looking for an individual who can display strong aptitude for people management to lead our team of lecturers, alongside having a rigorous approach to quality of teaching, learning and assessment. You will be responsible for managing this work-based blended learning programme, alongside spending approximately 50% of the role on module leadership and teaching. As our Degree Apprenticeships are delivered as validated programmes, you will be responsible for developing excellent working relationships with our University partners.  

With the Associate Dean, Director for Degree Apprenticeships and Academic Team, we work as a close-knit, broadly self-managed team, sharing teaching experiences and new ideas. We challenge each other and work determinedly and efficiently, to reach ever improving teaching and learning standards and outcomes.

Having a passion for teaching, imparting knowledge and engendering new skills and behaviours, keeping up to date in an ever-changing world, and importantly role-modelling your interest in inquiring into organisations to promote the professional development of our degree apprentices, are all needed for this varied, evolving role.  

Your experience:

Programme management experience desirable or having a the potential skills would also be welcome  

Ideally have some people management and leadership skills

Relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent - essential

PhD - highly desirable

HEA qualifications – preferred  

Lecturing experience and technical expertise in IT/Tech/Computing in the HE sector

Experience of delivering, working within, or contributing to Degree Apprenticeships would be an advantage. However, any blended learning or work-based programme experience would be welcome.
