Position:  Programme/Activities Coordinator
Location: Havant, Hampshire (PO9)
Hours: Full time
Salary: £21,000pa

Childhood should be a happy, fun and carefree time but for children living with a serious or life-limiting illness, it’s a very different story. Their lives are filled with regular hospital visits with gruelling treatment and periods of painful recovery. Friendships, fun and happiness are in short supply. Over The Wall is a national children’s charity who has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted for 3 consecutive years. Our purpose is to create fun opportunities for children and their families to reach beyond serious illness and discover joy, confidence and a new world of possibilities, always free of charge.

The role: As part of our aim to deliver transformational residential camps for seriously ill children, we are looking for a Programme/Activities Coordinator to develop a schedule of engaging, innovative and inclusive activities for each camp, within a defined budget; creating activity plans with clear aims and objectives, underpinned by therapeutic recreation and challenge by choice. You'll engage children and young people in the design and evaluation of activities, working closely with our Nursing team to ensure activities meet a wide range of needs. You'll attend residential camps (between 5 and 12 days duration) to support seasonal activity leaders in delivering the programme you've designed, and you’ll liaise with external activity providers to ensure the programme

About you: Our campers are exceptional, so you will need to be too. They're courageous, resilient and they amaze us every day, so we're looking for someone who will see their amazing potential, and design, adapt and deliver a programme which will help them reach beyond the perceived limitations of their illnesses.

We’re looking for someone creative, with excellent organisational skills. You’ll have experience of working with children/young people and delivering or designing activities. You’ll be a team player, but also able to work well independently. A full driving licence is essential for this post. Post is subject to full background and reference checks.

How to apply: To apply, please submit your CV and covering letter describing how your skills and experience make you perfect for this role. Applications without a covering letter will not be considered.
