Becoming a Proficiency Test Analyst with FERA Science Ltd:

This role is part of a dedicated PTG Analyst Team. The successful post holder will organise proficiency tests for analytical laboratories participating in the PTG programmes and is responsible for all aspects of their proficiency testing rounds. You will organise your own workload on a daily and weekly basis. You will receive comprehensive training and active support from your line manager and other members of the group to enable you to deliver.

What you will do:

  • The post holder will be responsible for:
  • Carrying out statistical evaluation of data.
  • Preparing proficiency testing final reports.
  • Checking PT paperwork and datasets for colleagues.
  • Ensuring the procurement of proficiency test materials.
  • Ensuring the suitability of proficiency test materials
  • Risk Management and working to project milestones.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors in conjunction with the test materials controller.
  • Answering general enquiries from scheme participants and prospective participants.
  • Providing ad hoc support to other members of PTG as required

Your experience will include:

  • Strong experience of working with windows based applications, particularly MS Excel and Word
  • Understanding and experience of applying mathematical equations
  • Experience of drafting reports and/or papers
  • Experience of project management
  • An understanding of quality systems
  • Experience of data analysis would be beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of food safety testing would be beneficial but not essential
  • Working at pace, under time constraints
  • Working in a customer service environment
