Production Team Leader

Gi Group Doncaster are currently looking for an experienced Team Leader on behalf of a leading manufacturer based on the outskirts of Doncaster.

The role will require you to be responsible for leading the team to ensure that the right people are undertaking the right tasks in the right way at the right time to meet departmental objectives in a safe manner.

Responsibilities include:-
 Ensuring the efficient and timely completion of production plans
 Ensuring that all staff and processes adhere to the company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
 Ensuring that all staff comply with the company standard operating & quality procedures
 Continuous improvement and the reduction of all forms of waste (including waste of effort) through collaboration and teamwork.
 Optimising process performance and introducing efficiency improvements
 Ensuring that quality disciplines are being adhered to at all times.
 Ensuring that all areas are kept clean, tidy and well organised in accordance with 5S principles and health and safety requirements.
 Leading by example through personal actions and appearance, including the use of PPE, health and safety and quality.
 Covering for absenteeism including organising holiday cover within the team.
 At certain times assuming sole responsibility for the activities and safe working of the team during shifts working, overtime or when the manager is not in the area.
 Raising any production or people problems or issues with Management as soon as possible.
 Providing input to the Head of Department regarding team members performance, conduct (eg attitude, behaviour) or capabilities

The Right Candidate should:-


 Have previous team leading or management experience within a production environment.
 Be organised and self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
 Be a strong manager who can lead by example.
 Demonstrate the ability to make suggestions for improvements and to put these into practice.
 Have experience with continuous Improvement.
 Display proven ability to meet targets and KPIs.
 Possess a good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices in the workplace.
 Ideally have a First aid qualification, or be willing to undertake First Aid training
 Ideally have some knowledge or experience of painting processes including paint straying.

The hours of work would be on one of the following shift patterns with flexibility as required, 6am - 2pm Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 4pm Monday to Friday & 7.30am - 1.30pm on Friday as well as 2pm - 12midnight Monday - Thursday. Some weekend work maybe required depending on requirements so flexibility is essential.
