There’s an art to team leadership, isn’t there. Some people need an arm around them, some need a kick… Sometimes you need to be flexible, sometimes you need to be firm.
As a Production Supervisor, you’re adept at knowing the right approach at the right time. You know how to handle the difficult conversations… The strong words needed to ensure health and safety compliance on the one hand; the emphatic open-door approach to understand and motivate staff on the other.
It’s those qualities they’re looking for , a global group and an industry-leading provider of sustainable and innovative materials and products for the construction industry. You’ll be reporting to our Works Manager, Paul, who is laidback, approachable and supportive.
In this role, you’ll apply your strong communication and leadership skills to a team of six. You’ll lead morning briefings and round-up meetings, Monday to Friday. Motivational and inspirational, your approach will help the team hit KPIs and, in turn, a monthly production bonus.
On-site health and safety adherence is a key focus of this role. That’s where the IOSH or NEBOSH qualification you’ve achieved will come in, along with your previous experience of completing risk assessments.
Are you right for us? You are if you have the strength of character gained from previously managing at least 10 people and if you’ve acquired supervisory / team leadership experience in a production environment.
We’re looking for a Production Supervisor who shares our strong health and safety ethos and believes in investing in people and their principles. If you hail from a heavy manufacturing industry background, fantastic - but this isn’t essential.
Location? Conveniently, we’re close to the M8, so both Glasgow and Edinburgh are a comfortable commute away.
What else is in it for you? We’re big believers in longevity. In helping the company achieve more success as an industry leader, you will have a clear potential pathway to a Site or Plant Manager position. Eighty percent of our hiring is carried out internally - the majority of people who join us believe in what we do, enjoy it, and stay with us on our journey.
With the company, you’ll be joining a flagship business that contributes to major construction developments - such as Wembley Stadium, Heathrow, and the Channel Tunnel.
We generate some £775m in UK annual sales and have more than more than 40,000 employees worldwide. We provide tailored solutions and applications, striving for innovation and quality. We are at the forefront of the construction industry’s shift towards cost-effective, efficient and environmentally friendly solutions.
If you’d like to help us remain number one in what we do, apply now by submitting your CV and cover letter; tell us why you’d like to join the company and why you’re the right person to succeed in this role.
