Production Supervisor

Hours: Shift Rotation (Week 1 - 6.30-15.00, Week 2 - 14.30-23.00)

My client in Newhaven are seeking two exceptional Production Supervisors to assist the Production Manager with day to day management and operation of the production line. The right candidate will need to lead by example to motivate the team, set clear objectives and ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Within this role you will also need to train, develop and mentor staff to ensure they produce products in accordance with quality and health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

*Ensure staffing levels are sufficient to fulfil upcoming orders including flow of raw materials, establish priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules and resolving problems
*Induct new and temporary members of staff
*Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting and training, development and growth
*Monitor temporary staff levels in line with production demand
*Work closely with other shift supervisors to ensure effective workload handover
*Ensure KPI's are met and data is collated for production spread sheets
*Implement ISOH training to ensure health and safety good practice across the facility, ensure safe use of assessment and correct PPE is issued
*Maintain clean and safe working environments, using 6s approach by training and directing staff on the use of control points
*Produce and collate risk assessments, safe systems of work, work instructions in line with company compliance
*Manage, develop, appraise and motivate employees performance and ensure clear communication is given verbally and written
*Be the main point of contact when Production Manager is off site and able to make appropriate decisions while following company reporting structure
*Monitor and maintain absences and manage welfare of staff
*Provide supervisory cover across all shift patterns as and when required
*Monitor and manage stock levels of raw materials and consumables
*Maintain and report machine utilization, working with production planner to achieve and maintain KPI targets
*Carry out contractor safety indications and issue permits to work, ensuring RAMS are in place before works commence
*Play a part in the companies continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth

Ideally you will have the following experience and skills:

*Supervisory management NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
*Understanding of customer awareness and impact of failure/cost of poor quality
*Knowledge of manufacturing process
*Experience of managing people
*Quality focus, procedures, systems knowledge
*Understand health and safety legislation
*ISOH certification
*Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
*Able to lead activities for staff development
*Good time management and organisational skills
