Production Shift Team Leader – Gt Yarmouth – Excellent package

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to lead a Production Shift Team in a Filling and Packing operation in Great Yarmouth. They are responsible for ensuring the shift works safely, efficiently and effectively to schedules of work delivering a quality product through excellent GMP controls. They will report to the Production Team Manager and support the Packing Coordinator while also acting as a backup for the responsible person on site outside of normal hours.

The successful candidate will run the production shift and manage the shift team and assist the responsible person in their site duties outside of normal working hours and act as a backup in their absence. Ensure batches are produced to meet production plans, to the required quality standards and in accordance with relevant company procedures. Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures on the shift. Ensure shift members are trained in all relevant processes and training is adequately documented. Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives and Lean projects within the department. Create, review and update production SOPs, WIs, Forms and BPRs in the electronic document management system.

Assist the Production Team Manager in creating and completing change controls, non-conformance investigations and associated CAPAs. Proactively liaise with service departments to ensure day to day problems are resolved efficiently and plans are met.

To be considered for this role you will be a graduate or have the ability to demonstrate graduate calibre. Self-motivated individual with a proactive ‘can do’ approach. Excellent interpersonal skills with experience of leading a team and the assertiveness to deal with staff related issues. Working experience of HR principles and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High aptitude for problem solving and decision making with proactive identification of improvements. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar, with experience of key problem solving or improvement tools (e.g. DMAIC, Kaizen). Experience of working within a regulated manufacturing/production environment (e.g. pharmaceutical, food production environment) and associated documentation. Experience of appraisals and individual performance management. Sound working knowledge of windows office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and computer systems

This role reports to the Production Team Manager and deputises for the Packing Coordinator in their absence. It is an important role within the organisation and as such commands a salary of around £29K, plus 20% shift premium. Other benefits include 25 days holiday, pension matched at 5%, group life at 4 times basic salary, health care after service qualification, free lunch / tea / coffee etc. The company operates across two shifts 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10 pm.
