Production Planner

My client is a well-known market leader serving the majority of most UK retailers and wholesalers within the food manufacturing & services industry based in the North West.

We want to engage with enthusiastic individuals looking to grow and take on a challenge within Production & Planning but not limited to this area from an FMCG environment.

This role requires an experienced candidate who can identify and implement plans and schedules in line with customer needs.

The Role:

  • Share forecasts with suppliers and resolve any issues
  • General support within a busy sales order processing environment
  • An ability to take ownership of certain elements of the SOP function to allow others in the department more free time.
  • Working with web based retailer portals.
  • Use planning systems to convert forecasts into production and material plans
  • Communicate effectively with the operations team
  • Flexibility to provide shared cover across the department for seasonal demands, holidays & occasional bank holidays
  • Ability to reconcile monthly stock figures
  • Manage and minimise risks within orders

The Candidate:

  • Previous experience in production planning and forecasting is essential as this is a key part of this role across both Chill & Ambient product groups..
  • An ability to take ownership of certain elements of the SOP function to allow others in the department more free time.
  • Good awareness of Stock/Value control
  • FMCG background or experience
  • Worked with range of SKUS (short and long lead time)
  • An ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines along with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills including telephone, face to face
  • Computer Literacy skills are essential including Excel, Word etc.
  • Highly professional and driven to perform in the work-place

What’s on offer?

  • Salary between £20,000 - £23,000
  • Monday - Friday 8 till 4 (1 Saturday morning every 3 weeks)
