  • Operate and supervise the efficient and safe running of equipment you are trained to operate
  • To ensure product leaving your work area is within specification for length, section and specie
  • To comply with Health & Safety regulations and pay attention to the health & safety of yourself and colleagues
  • Operate and supervise equipment you are trained and authorised to use in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure pre-start checks are undertaken on your equipment
  • Monitor bin stocks and infeed conveyors ensuring consistent production flow by utilising the under conveyor and waterfall conveyors and ensuring the appropriate speed settings in you HMI panel for each product dimensions and maximum cutting speeds
  • Ensure you follow cutting instructions from production planning carefully and complete reports on quantities of product sawn
  • Ensure correct labelling of product leaving your work area
  • Ensure poor quality ends are pulled to trim
  • Ensure that non-conformance product is removed from layers prior to cutting
  • Ensure production leaving your area is within tolerance for length section and quality by undertaking dimension checks at the start of each run and correcting any variability
  • Liaise with Supervisors and Engineers regarding equipment breakdown or issues on equipment that could cause inaccurate cutting, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Ensure that any unsafe equipment is isolated and reported to Supervisors and Engineers
  • Ensure that you accurately record downtime
  • In the event of a breakdown or periods of low bin stocks ensure that you undertake cleaning of your work area and any routine maintenance tasks (oiling/greasing etc.) as well as assist in other areas during periods of lengthy breakdowns
  • Assist in ad-hoc main line duties as and when required
  • To ensure production documentation from your work area is correct
