Production Manager

aspire cambridge are recruiting a Production Manager "Process Control/Costs" on behalf of an award winning company who are listed in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 fastest growing UK tech companies for a second year running. They design, manufacture and support of energy management display and information systems for domestic markets across Europe. Their focus is helping consumers understand and manage their domestic energy (and water) consumption.

Established in 2006 our client is now one of the leading home energy management system companies in the world having sold over 4 million systems. This year they won a Queens Award for Enterprise. With major contracts to supply the UK smart metering programme, multiple connected home contracts and a growing distribution channel the company is continuing to experience substantial growth.

Responsibilities:

Drive multisource production across multiple geographic sites
Run key production projects and liaise with stakeholders and customers as required
Maturing the production process and process control such as FMEA, PPAP and APQP
Scale up the manufacturing processes and supply chain to support multiple high volume customers
Accountability for stock control
Kanban build strategies and lead-times.
Power user of ERP system
Line Management of production team
Accountability of relevant ISO9001 and ISO14001 procedures
Owner of overall production process including technology re-use.
Organising builds into platform commodities
Drive product modularity and re-use
Ownership and optimisation of all BoMs for new and repeat orders
Customer order processing
Load balancing of the production lines
Process for release and control of customer requests
Owner of overseeing production processes & Production tools
Develop and implement new systems, best practices, demand planning, and other optimizations in order to grow the business
Develop analytics, systems and data management capabilities, including metrics and reports
Management of buffer stock, including buffer stock and MOQs managed through distribution
Work with production team to define production continuous improvement processes
Person spec to include:

A proven manufacturing track record for a high volume business
PPAP/APQP experience
Good degree
Attention to detail
Line management experience
Start: ASAP
Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Hours: M to F Full Time
Salary: Circa £55,000
