Production Manager

The Just Recruitment Group is currently seeking an experienced Production Manager for our client based on the border of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Our client is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and distributors of Pharmaceutical products, seeking a dynamic and forward thinking addition to their management team.

The purpose of the role:
*To lead and manage all Production activities in accordance with cGMP, cGDP and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, SOPs and company policies
*To plan, control and co-ordinate all the activities and the resources within Production in order to pack pharmaceutical products effectively and achieve product output to the required standards of quality, cost, delivery and customer service
*To lead the implementation of continuous improvements in Production and other functions to achieve improved standards, cost efficiencies and effective utilisation of people and system resources.
*To review Production processes and develop plans to deliver improvement opportunities using systematic metric-based approaches to implement and maintain optimal packing standards
*To lead, direct and develop Production teams to ensure compliance ,continuous improvement and products are packed to meet specification and in accordance with the required cGMP compliance
*To work effectively with the Operations and Quality management team to ensure business operational needs are met in accordance with the Site work schedule
*To agree and manage headcount resources and capex budgets
*To deputise for the Site Head in their absence
*Assume responsibility as named on the site manufacturer's authorization as responsible for Production

*Meet Site targets for Production via effective resource management, including reduction of material wastage and, improvements in productivity and performance of people / equipment
*Ensure all Production activities are executed in full compliance with cGMP and cGDP requirements via a program of procedural reviews and updates, creating new procedures where required
*Own the Production plan and participate in Production Planning meetings and ensure efficient labour and asset utilisation to deliver On-time In-full delivery against the Demand Plan
*Maintain strong relationships with the departments that interact with Production in support of delivery of the production plan and compliance
*Regularly review team skills and competencies and establish training and development plans to strengthen the teams capabilities
*Represent Production in Quality and EHS meetings to ensure potential issues are raised and where applicable, conduct full investigations and raise robust Change Controls, Deviations and CAPAs
*Maintain current Health and Safety risk assessments for all Production processes, activities and materials used and, implement the appropriate controls and training
*Identify and lead the implementation of initiatives for performance improvement and inspire a culture of continuous improvement within the Production function
*Establish,compile and communicate KPIs for Production to drive and monitor performance improvement
*Any other duties that be may appropriate for the role

Skills, Experience and Behaviours:
Essential Skills, Experience & Behaviours
*Significant experience as a Production Manager within the pharmaceutical industry
*In-depth knowledge and experience of cGMP and cGDP guidelines and pharmaceutical processes
*Experience and skilled in continuous improvements / lean manufacturing techniques
*Excellent organisational and people management skills
*Ability to work under pressure but maintaining attention to detail, schedule resources, and support teams
*Excellent problem-solving skills
*Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
*High level of numeracy skills and competent in basic computer software packages
*Demonstrable success in managing, training and developing high performing teams
*Ability to work autonomously and organise own workload efficiently
*Practical hands-on approach with a 'can do' attitude
*Excellent team player
*Logical and analytical mind-set
*Encourages a culture of openness, honesty and integrity
*Understanding of Health and Safety requirements related to manufacturing environments
Desirable Skills, Experience & Behaviours
Experienced in participating in regulatory and quality inspections
Lean Manufacturing qualification
