Production Engineer

Owen Daniels are working with a well-established manufacturing business that specialises in delivering innovative electrical solutions for a range of industrial applications. Due to continued growth and investment, they are now looking to add an experienced Production Engineer with a strong electrical background to their technical team.

This is a hands-on role involving close interaction with both the production floor and customers, so strong communication skills and the ability to work from electrical schematics and CAD layouts is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• As the Production Engineer, you will Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to support production processes
  
  
• Act as the technical interface between engineering, production, and the customer, ensuring specifications are clearly communicated and understood
  
  
• Assist in the design, modification, and optimisation of manufacturing processes related to electrical products and assemblies
  
  
• Work with CAD software to review and adjust electrical layouts, wiring configurations, and manufacturing drawings
  
  
• Provide hands-on support during prototype builds, new product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  
  
• Support the development of manufacturing documentation including work instructions, test procedures, and BOMs
  
  
• Identify and resolve production-related issues in a timely and efficient manner
  
  

Requirements for Production Engineer:

• Previous experience in a Production Engineer role within a manufacturing environment
  
  
• Strong electrical engineering background with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
  
  
• Hands-on experience supporting production or assembly teams in an electrical or electro-mechanical setting
  
  
• Proficient in the use of CAD software (such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar) for layouts and schematic interpretation
  
  
• Confident working directly with customers to understand requirements and provide technical input
  
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement
  
  

Desirable for Production Engineer:

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  
  
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
