My Client, an established International Manufacturer, utilising Heavy Plant, is now looking to recruit a Production Technician.
You will have Engineering qualifications and experience of running heavy production equipment. You will have total operating responsibility for the manufacturing plant.

The Role:Production Engineer / Technician - shift

Use knowledge of plant and process to lock off all relevant items of equipment
Responsible for maintaining raw material supply
Contribute to all plant improvement and upgrade projects
Controlling the process using SPC charts wherever possible
Fault finding and first line maintenance on all plant equipment
Maintain a comprehensive shift log
Responsible for sampling and measuring the product during the process
Carry out plant tours and physically check equipment and process.
Responsible to perform trouble shooting on the whole plant to find the causes of problems
Drive the overhead gantry crane.
Movement of goods and skips by forklift truck when required

Skills / Experience / Qualifications: Production Engineer / Technician - shift

Mechanical qualification: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Ideally - Electrical qualification: City and Guilds 2360/2330 part 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
Process or Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably heavy industry
First Aid at Work Certificate
Fork lift driving licence
Operationally competent to run all processes controlled from the control room
Knowledge and understanding of the process computer and logic diagrams
