To succeed in this role you must have previous planning experience of engineered products and services coupled with working knowledge of most machining, welding, assembly and test processes.
To manage the Production Control system related requirements in accordance with the policies, goals and objectives established by the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
To assist, facilitate, monitor and develop an efficient and effective production department, specifically in areas of policy and procedure, whose goal is to deliver on time to the right quality and at the best possible cost.
Maintain, develop and improve wherever possible, company procedures, standards of quality and workmanship to BS EN ISO 9001 & AS9100 at all times.
Jointly ensure all health and safety regulations are observed and maintained.
Organise and plan the workload as well as issuing shop documentation in a timely manner to ensure all delivery objectives are achieved in the most economic and efficient way whilst maintaining quality.
Continually strive to improve by review of the working procedures, the efficiency of the business, instigating change as required.
To construct, monitor and maintain production schedules in line with sales orders and customer requirements.
Assist the Production Control Supervisor ensuring each (resource) work centre is effectively loaded, whilst providing the foreman with a weekly work-to list for all production areas and resources.
Maintain and improve customer relationships by presenting coherent and credible production schedules as required.
Evaluate both short term and long term workloads and proactively generate awareness of problems to the appropriate level of management.
Liase with customers for specific delivery requirements and ensuring that the customer is informed of any changes to the agreed delivery order requirements.
Inform Purchasing and Sale Department of any changes in delivery requirements taking into consideration any commercial implications.
Co-ordinate all transport requirements for delivery of goods.
Raise purchase orders for subcontract operations.
For expediency liaise with the customer/supplier to resolve any material or drawing problems.
Qualifications & Experience required:
Previous planning experience of engineered products and services.
Working knowledge of most Machining, Welding, Assembly and Test processes.
Confident in the use of MS Office Software packages.
