Production Buyer & Planner - £28,000 - £32,000 basic salary plus competitive benefits, based Glasgow.

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the delivery of projects to designated customers on time and to budget. They are responsible for the purchase and budget of all raw materials for projects under their control and to plan the availability and use of materials, manpower, machines, processes and information to meet the highest level of customer expectation, with the highest possible level of efficiency and effective utilisation.
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the relationship and communication of requirements, performance and information between the Company and its customers and suppliers, for all confirmed production projects.
o Forward planning of orders and predict projects to establish capacity planning
o Plan to optimise cost and use of most efficient and productive processes and materials
o Detailed planning of materials requirements
o Purchase of raw materials
o Management of suppliers and relationship building
o Cost saving initiatives and projects
o Detailed tracking of all materials
o Communicate project information to production and technical teams
o Communication of progress and issues to customers
o Regular update of plan start and finish dates and times for each job/project
o Manage issues arising immediately, working with all parties to resolve those issues
o Communication of plan to labour resource providers as a result of changes
o Optimisation of plan to drive lowest possible labour cost outcome for each project
o Communication of final plan to manufacturing, quality, logistics and technical teams
o Communication of expectations to all through production meetings
o Monitor and reporting of performance, with corrective action plans for outages, for all responsibility areas
