Product Planning & Performance Analyst

Role Overview/Purpose

Reporting to the Product Planning & Performance Manager the Product Planning & Performance Analyst will track and ensure the Product Management teams clearly understand and respond to product performance across Sportsbook, eGaming and eCommerce. You will have a key role in supporting decisions on where we invest in product, evaluating new product initiatives and identifying focus areas for the teams.

The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert on all of our products leveraging their expertise to influence our strategy. The role will cover all products for the Paddy Power and Betfair brands across sportsbook, gaming and ecommerce and all territories globally except the USA and Australia. You will own key stakeholder relationships and will have significant exposure to senior management across the organisation ensuring we utilise performance data to make good decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Planning & Performance Manager in evaluating new product initiatives and areas for focus: * Draft business case frameworks to efficiently evaluate multiple smaller opportunities at pace * Undertake bespoke in-depth business casing for larger investments

  • Clearly communicate the focus areas, output and impact of the Commercial Product Management team

  • Draft performance reports and presentations to be shared at Exco level on a regular basis

  • Quickly identify areas of concern for the commercial product team; communicating these to relevant stakeholders on a regular basis.

  • Taking the information produced by the analytical teams undertake project initiatives that cut across eGaming, Sports and e-commerce product verticals. Taking ownership of actions and managing through to completion.

  • Influence commercial product, technology and commercial teams to deliver on customer value proposition

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of the sporting calendar and gambling industry highly desirable

  • Strong data manipulation skills in Excel or other data tools with a special emphasis on producing output appropriate to the audience

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Experience using SQL desired and knowledge of Redshift a plus

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree level education

  • Strong analytical background; high numerical aptitude is required

  • High intellectual capability and a passion for finding solutions to complex problems

  • Have a track record of producing or interpreting insights that influence senior decision makers and other stake holders

  • Experience in quickly reacting to business under-performance, working with multiple stakeholders to collate an appropriate response

  • Ability to tell a performance “story” succinctly and in an engaging manner

  • Team player with personal characteristics that engender trust and confidence
