Product Owner

Posted 8 March by Experian Limited Featured

An excellent opportunity has arisen within Experian's Consumer Services (ECS) division for a Product Owner role based in Nottingham.

The product team is working on a series of innovative FinTech products to help consumers make better credit decisions. Through our free online comparison services - that use consumers' credit information to match them to products they're more likely to be accepted for - we are building a rapidly growing lead generation business. Having just doubled revenues over the last financial year, we are looking to do the same again this year - and the business are investing in the team to do exactly this.

As part of the product management team, the Product Owner works directly with the Nottingham based development team to ensure the successful delivery of our product roadmap.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write product requirements, user stories, manage the sprint backlog, and set sprint priorities

  • Experience in an agile product owner role
  • Strong ability to make trade-off decisions between possible and desirable, which requires a good sense of what is technically feasible
  • Past experience in a role that required collaboration, influencing others, and required building trust, in a complex and matrix environment
  • Confident in networking and managing relationships across business and technical teams, both face-to-face and remotely
  • Self-motivated and self-sufficient to work in all aspects of the role with minimal guidance
  • Understanding and experience of the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent probing and questioning skills and not afraid to challenge the norm

  • Micro-services architectures
  • Financial product development under FCA regulation (credit cards and/or loans)
