The Product Manager is responsible for managing the business activities and routines in relation to successfully implementing an industry and platform strategy which supports the business product portfolio.  This includes defining product opportunities and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the competitive environment and supplier and regulatory requirements. 

This role bridges knowledge gaps within platform configurations, associated product, feature, functionality, application and usability while providing critical feedback to the product owners within Bank of America Merchant Services and First Data.

This role will assist in leading the Global eCommerce perspective in partnership with product, portfolio and integrated payment services group.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide SME of all products, solutions and platforms to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Serve as primary product and platform solutions architect, working in partnership with corporate sales teams and clients and the technology teams.
  • Develop and improve requirements and process maps.
  • Serve as strategic counsel for any projects requiring technology integration, including but not limited to: EMV, mobile, NFC, eCommerce, cloud and various security offerings.
  • Manage product profit and loss and associated drivers and metrics to support them.  Analysis of revenue and pricing costs.
  • Gathering market intelligence and customer feedback to develop business investment cases for new propositions.
  • Develop and maintain sales collateral and sales tools for existing products.  Develop and manage product presentations.
  • Product training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the main driver for product development, requirements setting, preparation of business cases, etc.
  • Develop requirements and process maps.
  • Develop and maintain a product strategy for existing products within responsibility.
  • Gathering market intelligence and customer feedback to develop business investment cases for new propositions.
  • Developing and executing product plans augmenting the product set into new markets or segments as appropriate.
  • Investigate and drive initiatives to maximize revenue and minimise cost including product pricing, marketing and promotion.
  • Managing product through successful partnerships with sales, delivery and support partners to drive growth and improvements in product offerings - includes product profitability and quality.
  • Risk and compliance management for existing products
  • Develop and maintain sales collateral and sales tools for existing products · Develop and manage product presentations.
  • Participation in industry organisations and represent BAMS at industry committees and forums.
  • Contact point for all technology, operations, services and implementation teams - identify pain points, resolve issues, manage escalations as appropriate.
  • MBA or graduate degree in technology field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of product and platform experience within consumer payments (e.g. acquirer, card schemes).
  • Strong knowledge of end to end system, integration from Gateway, POS, processors etc.
  • Negotiation with large organisations.
  • Proven communication experience, including oral presentations at all levels of an organisation
  • Proven ability to interact with an executive team in a consultative manner.
  • Track record of success in a performance driven environment.
  • History of building relationships with key business partners.
  • Extensive product knowledge within Merchant, Bankcard, or Financial Services.
  • Project Management skills and ability to work in a high pressure, deadline orientated environment.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.  Highly numerate and commercially focused.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English.
  • Strong consultative, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player with ability to successfully develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
