Product Manager

**Head Office based with some travel**

We make and supply kitchen, bathroom and bedroom furniture into the new build and affordable housing sector as well as a number of retail brands, which are sold in independent retailers throughout the UK. In addition, we manufacture furniture for builders' merchants, large DIY stores and directly to individual customers.

Job purpose:

Reporting into the Head of Product Development, you will be responsible for managing the product life cycle for all products within your portfolio and managing the marketing of the contract channel in support of the Business Strategy.

Duties and responsibilities:

Product Managing

Identify market opportunities to support the business strategy

Undertake competitor analysis, communicating key findings and making recommendations

Support the development of Product Roadmaps, to enable medium and long-term business decisions

Portfolio reviews, to ensure the product portfolio is relevant and its business impact

Liaise with sales teams to develop products specific to accounts and channels, maximising sales

Define the scope for new products through both strategic and tactical channels

Manage portfolios to ensure clean product launches and effective obsolescence plans

Ensure the portfolio is compliant to current and future product legislation

Supporting communications i.e. Product launches, to both internal and external stakeholders

Rationalisation of product when required

To present products at customer range reviews and other similar presentations

Project Managing

Managing and delivering project plans to agreed time-scales

Hosting project meetings with relevant stakeholders to ensure engagement

Research & Insight

Conduct customer facing meetings to gain insight and understanding

Carry out product surveys to gain data on product samples

Training to relevant stakeholders on product range and NPD

Channel Management

Be an expert on the contract channel, understanding its dynamics, size and potential opportunities

Competitor analysis, understanding strengths, weaknesses and gaps

Create strong marketing campaigns which engage the customers within the contract channel

Qualifications:

Degree Level: Business / Marketing or equivalent desired

Key Skills & Experience:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, Project & Powerpoint

Product Managing B2B - Essential

Strong numerical & verbal skills

Ability to influence and negotiate

Excellent presentation skills

IBM AS400 (Desirable)

Product Managing B2C (Desirable)

Manufacturing Experience (Desirable)
